Confirmed by genetics testing, she confirms that Bay is not biologically related to the parents who have raised her, indented by the fact that the hospital mistakenly switched her with another newborn. While Daphne Vasquez is a deaf teen living with her single mom, struggling Regina and grandmother in a working class neighborhood in Riverside, Missouri. She had a severe case of meningitis as a child, so she grew up deaf.
