You Got Served: Beat the World 2011 Megavideo Free

What “You Got Served: Beat the World” wants to instill, apart from advice on how to slap together two subtitles to make a singular title, is an appreciation for the redemptive and freeing power of dance. I seem to recall the “Step Up” films telling me the exact same thing. And if I remember correctly, those films were themselves low-rent retreads of Alan Parker’s “Fame.” How much more watering down will stories like this undergo? “You Got Served” is a film whose serious and potentially compelling message is all but buried by its own visual excesses, the basic structure following a pattern of less plot and more dancing – which, like synchronized swimming and martial arts, advances nothing and exists for no reason other than to be itself. What little there is in the way of story is splintered into hilariously unconvincing subplots, each so contrived and simple-minded that they come dangerously close to parody.
